I was born in South Carolina and moved to North Carolina when I was 3 months old. When my Daddy saw me for the first time in the hospital, he said, “There is my little “COOKIE”. Although, I was legally named, Phyllis, the nickname “Cookie” has always suited my personality much better and since it was my Daddy’s special name for me, it has a lot of significance and sentimentality, especially since my Daddy passed away in 1988. So, that is the reason I use “Cookie” Watson instead of Phyllis Watson.

I have been married to my spouse for 47 years. We have a wonderful son and two fabulous grandchildren. My son is my internet guru. He designed and maintains this great website, for which I am most grateful and proud.. Without his expertise, this website would not offer the many advantages over the run-of–the mill sites.

We own a farm in Nash County, about 5 miles out in the country. I stable our two horses, Tira, an Arabian gelding and Arabella, a Friesian Sport horse, on our farm. Unfortunately, my Paso Fino, Chickie, passed away last year. She was a wonderful and much loved horse; however, she did have an attitude.

I chose the Real Estate Profession because I am a “PEOPLE PERSON”. My choice came in an unusual way. I was working with my personal Real Estate Broker looking for a home for my family and me. Because I had lived in Rocky Mount all my life and the Agent was originally from another city, I knew how to locate the listed properties better than she did, so she planted the seed in my mind for a Real Estate Career. That seed lingered and grew. I pursued the profession and LOVE IT. She set an example for me as to what a “Good Professional Real Estate Agent” should be. Unfortunately, she is no longer living, but I cherish the lessons and path she set for me.

Each time I am able to help customers find their “Dream Home” it gives me a sense of accomplishment and personal satisfaction. Having been in their shoes, I know they are making the biggest emotional and financial decision of their life.

From personal experience, I know clients can feel overwhelmed with all the paper work and real estate terminology. I want clients to feel at ease knowing they are my first priority and I will take as much time as necessary to make sure they are knowledgeable and comfortable with the choices they make.

Since being licensed as a Real Estate Broker in 1972, it has been my pleasure during the years to help many families buy or sell homes in Rocky Mount. I especially enjoy working with customers relocating to Rocky Mount. It not only gives me the opportunity to sell a home but to sell them on my hometown. Each and every transaction is as exciting and important to me as my first sale over 31 years ago.
